SenderPays.com

Is your time valuable?   or   Do you get too much email?     Do you work from home or provide services by email?     Would you like an effective way to block all unwanted email from reaching you?

SenderPays.com is a service which works with your existing email software.   You specify the maximum amount you want to be able to charge senders for reading their email, and then anyone who wants to send email to you must deposit at least that much money with us in trust before their email can reach you.
Each email that you receive will have a secure charging form attached. You can choose to charge any amount, from nothing up to your specified maximum when you get your email, with a single mouse click!
The money is deposited directly into your SenderPays trust account, and can be withdrawn at any time in a variety of different ways, such as by check or by a credit directly to your credit card.

If you don't want to charge your friends, you can either add their email addresses as allowed senders, or, simply click the no-charge button on each email you receive from them.

If your professional time is valuable, you can set a large sensible maximum amount which you can choose to charge your senders, then when you've dealt with each individual email you receive, you can choose exactly how much to charge for each one. You don't have to separately bill each sender or wait for their payments - as soon as you click charge the money goes directly from their trust account to yours and can be withdrawn by you at any time.

How SenderPays works.
If you want to be able to charge people who send you email, you first need to sign up with our service. There are two kinds of signups:

Whichever method you pick, when a new person first tries to send you an email to your chosen email address, their email will be returned to them along with an explanation of the SenderPays service, and an optional note that you can write.

In order for their email to reach you, they have to visit the SenderPays web site and deposit enough money in trust to cover the maximum possible amount that you specify you want to be able to charge for reading email.

As soon as they do this, their email is automatically forwarded on to you for reading. If they choose not to pay, you will not be bothered by their email - however - you may still use our website to see any emails that people have sent to you, but which are undelivered because they won't pay. This ensures that you never miss an email, but at the same time lets you safely ignore anything that people are not willing to pay for you to read, because they have already received a notification saying that their email will not be delivered to you.

If you choose not to charge, or charge less than the amount your sender deposited, the sender can get back the balance of their trust monies after you've made your decision.

How much does SenderPays cost?
There is not cost for joining SenderPays, however, we charge 10% commission on all monies paid to you, and we pass on all costs we incur with international currency conversions and credit card charges (typically 3%) or with check handling and postage (currently )

If you are a professional and would like to use our service in lieu of invoicing your customers, please contact us - we do negotiate our rates for high-value transactions.

What's the difference between "Own Email" and "New Address" signups?
If you choose the "Own Email" signup option, nobody can send you email without agreeing to pay. Choose this option if this is what you want (eg: if you get lots of email that you want to charge for or block, and the senders already know your email address)

If you choose only the the "New Address" signup option, people can still send email directly to your existing email address and it will always get through. They will have to pay if they send email to your new "@senderpays.com" address. Choose this option if your senders do not already know your current email address, or if you only want to charge new people who don't know your current address. You will have to keep your current address secret from anyone who you want to charge, or else they can write to you directly for free.
